We have a very simple set of principles that we believe are critical to the creation of unique and effective services for business operations.
At their core services should be contextually relevant to the task at hand, services that are useful will be intuitive to the user in their applied context and most importantly we believe that taking action, getting things done, doing 'it', are keys to success and therefore, above all else, services must support actioning.
To provide some flesh on these bones we've created the RapidInfluence Planning Manifesto below:
- Planning without action is hallucination
- Execution of the Plan is as important as the Plan itself.
- Planning and execution are two different things
- Plan execution should bring a shift of focus to the defined action items that can be assigned and tracked
- If people cannot figure out where to start you risk never getting started
- If Plans appear complex or complicated it can be difficult for actioning to start, we separate the focus on planning from actioning so that 'what needs to be done' can be clearly seen, thereby facilitating action
- Good tools provide information which permit insight but don't stifle the underlying activity
- We believe that leaders need tools that support the way 'they work' that are not wrapped around a formal rigid way of doing things. That said, the context of the tool's operation needs to be in line with the activity at hand. We have an intuitive tool created in the context of strategic planning which is aligned with implementation, which stays out of the way and also lets you keep track of what needs to be done
- Keep track of the things that need to be done, do this really well, and the big picture will take care of itself
- Create your plan however you like, with strategy sessions provided by a consultant or over a couple beers, we don't care. Do what works for you. When you are done and you know what needs to be done then use our tools, use them all or only those that suit you and your plan. Our tools help you execute the actions associated with your plan
- You don't "do planning" what you do is "take action".
- Take care of the actions defined in your plan and the results will take care of themselves. Ok that may be overly simplified but if your plan is accurate and well conceived then you've already settled on the initiatives, the elements and from this the necessary actions have arisen. Now that the 'planning' is over, now that the smart minds have contemplated, considered, judged and the vision is clear, the time is now for action. Our service is designed to stay out of your way while you take action on your plan. We don't prescribe particular ways of making your plan and we have designed our interface and the language we use to be accommodating to any type of plan.
